SoberBeds of Boston provides structured, supportive recovery housing for men across five homes in the Greater Boston area. We offer the stability, accountability, and community you need to build lasting sobriety.
"Recovery is not a destination — it's the way you live every single day. We built these homes to give you the ground to stand on."
Men in active recovery
across our five homes
SoberBeds of Boston was founded by Kenneth Jakaus, a Recovery Specialist who understands that the transition out of treatment is one of the most vulnerable moments in a person's life. Without stable, sober housing, everything else falls apart.
We provide more than a place to sleep. We provide a community of men who hold each other accountable, a structured program that creates healthy routines, and the professional support of a team that genuinely cares about your long-term success.
Drug-free, alcohol-free environments with house managers on site.
Peer support from men walking the same road as you.
Clear expectations, routines, and accountability built into daily life.
Connections to employment, education, and treatment resources.
We connect residents with the programs, services, and structure they need — not just a bed, but a full framework for lasting sobriety.
We connect residents with Access to Recovery, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Mass Career Center, Mass DTA, and Recovered Souls to ensure every man has a recovery plan built around their individual needs.
Residents follow a structured daily routine and are required to engage with the 12-step program. Each resident joins a homegroup within 30 days and takes on a service position to build commitment and purpose.
Four weekly recovery meetings are required, including one in-house meeting every Monday. Scheduled and random drug and alcohol testing ensures the integrity of our sober environment for all residents.
We help residents navigate insurance options for medical and dental care, and connect them with nearby community health resources so their physical wellbeing supports their recovery journey.
We support residents in finding employment, pursuing GED programs, enrolling in community college, and accessing trade and technical training — because financial independence is a foundation of lasting recovery.
For residents navigating probation, court requirements, or legal matters, we provide documentation support, residency letters for officers and courts, and connections to legal resources to keep you on track.
Our homes are located across Weymouth, Braintree, and Quincy — all accessible by public transit and close to recovery meetings, healthcare, and employment.
From basic needs to career development, our program is designed to give residents every tool for long-term recovery success.
Comfortable, well-maintained homes with drug-free and alcohol-free environments enforced by experienced house managers.
Live alongside men who understand your journey. Shared accountability and mutual encouragement make recovery sustainable.
Access to assistance for food and clothing so that residents can focus on recovery rather than survival stress.
Our team helps residents access medical and dental care through insurance navigators and nearby community health clinics.
GED programs, community college pathways, trade training, and resume support — because independence starts with opportunity.
We provide official residency letters, probation support documentation, and connections to legal aid to help residents meet all obligations.
Our program requirements aren't restrictions — they're the framework that makes recovery possible. Every rule exists to protect the community and support your growth.
Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. All residents agree to random and scheduled drug and alcohol testing as a condition of residency.
Residents attend a minimum of four recovery meetings per week, including the mandatory in-house Monday meeting. Meetings are a cornerstone of community accountability.
All residents work through the 12-step program and must join a homegroup within 30 days of admission, along with taking on a service position in that group.
Residents are expected to be actively working, in school, in outpatient treatment, or engaged in a structured recovery program during their time with us.
The program fee is $250 per week. Consistent, timely payment is a condition of residency and teaches the financial responsibility essential to independent living.
All residents follow house rules covering curfews, guests, chores, and conduct. Respect for housemates and staff is non-negotiable.
